When Your Kickstarter Campaign Fails - You've Just Begun
Joe Wilson's Kickstarter campaign for Vampire Mob failed. And he couldn't get the actor he wanted. (You can read all about Joe's missteps and frustrations in a great interview conducted by Film Courage.)
But Joe didn't let failure stop him.
What's important is that Joe didn't give up. Filmmakers should watch the video, listen and learn from Joe about how to cope with failure. Joe is a hero. Like me, the best New World filmmaking lessons Joe Wilson learned apparently came from failure. Thanks to failure, Joe really understands how to think about fundraising from a core audience. Because he's really been through the fire and done it, what Joe has to say about connecting with fans and persistence (the one ingredient ever successful filmmaker shares) is simply priceless.
