Crumbling Movie Palace Finds an Angel

This February 2nd, 2010 NY Times blogpost describes how one of the most wondrous of Loews movie theaters might be saved. The 3,200 seat Loews Kings Theater in Flatbush (Brooklyn NY) was one of the most amazing theaters ever built when it opened on Sept. 7, 1929. But it was seized by the City in 1979 for back taxes and over the years its grandeur has been stripped by thieves and desecrated by vandals and pigeons. Here is a link to a NY Times slideshow about the proposed restoration of the Kings.
