Irresistible Kickstarter Campaigns

With 11 days to go, the kickstarter campaign for MaKey MaKey has already received $325,000 more in pledges than its creators (two MIT media lab students) initially asked for.

This development, along with the news that Amanda Palmer's new music project recently received over $1,000,000 in financing from over 26,000 backers via kickstarter (see video below) suggests crowd funding isn't just for small projects anymore.
