The Egg: An Online Film Distribution Innovation

What if producers could distribute their films via secure encrypted files that users can download and share with others, but the actual film is embedded in a player that allows users to watch a trailer and read about the film but, if they want to see the film, each user must pay? In other words, what if your film could be encased within its own Egg, which was a self-contained interface/viewer. According to their website, the service exists and they call it the Egg. Using the Egg, your film can be distributed laterally and transported via email, website, portable devices, instant messaging and many more methods, while always ensuring that your film won't get pirated. Distribution of the Egg is viral. People who like your film can send the Egg containing your film to their friends. And the filmmaker gets paid whenever the film is viewed.
