From Sundance to Homeless and Back

In a July 23rd, 2010 guest post for indieWIRE, filmmaker Robert Bella describes the strange journey of his debut feature, Colin Fitz. Made with friends from the NY theater world (some of whom were stars) for no money, Colin Fitz premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 1997. Despite a great response at Sundance, it took 13 years for Colin Fitz to obtain distribution. This is ultimately an upbeat story because Colin Fitz will debut on IFC Films’ Sundance Selects on August 4, 2010 and have its LA premiere at the American Cinematheque at the Aero Theater on Thursday, August 5th at 7:30pm. But what a long strange trip.
