Get Lucky: George Barnett Earns 3+ Million YouTube Views For His Great DIY Cover of Daft Punk's Hit

In unpermissioned copying news, George Barnett - a 24 year-old English musician (drums and loops for These New Puritans - a band that features George and his twin brother, Jack) and model - has received a lot of attention for his remarkable solo cover of Daft Punk's Get Lucky -  co-written by Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers.

The original Daft Punk track was leaked in mid-April 2013 and as of June 1, 2013 the official video version of the funky original had been viewed around 45 million times on YouTube.  George Barnett's solo version went up exactly 10 days after the original  (the first "approved" video dropped on April 19th, 2013 and George Barnett's homemade version hit on April 29th)  and - without the marketing or radio play of Daft Punk-  George Barnett's version has received 3.359,761 views as of June 1, 2013.

Here's a video of Pharrell Williams performing Get Lucky live (check how the crowd in Brklyn sings along, even though, as Pharrell notes,  "the song just came out last night"):

And a remix - that uses vintage Soul Train dancers to illustrate how the groove  makes dancing inevitable:

And a mash-up of Daft Punk with Michael Jackson's Billy Jean:

And, there's even this Prancersize version:
