The Indie Filmmaker's Guide to Cross-Media: Storytelling in the 21st Century: Berlin Panel 2012

On February 13th, 2012 a panel on transmedia storytelling, moderated by the founder and CEO of Power to the Pixel Liz Rosenthal, was held at the Berlin Film Festival. In addition to Liz, panelists included Michel Reilhac, general director of Arte France, Martin Ericsson, from the Swedish transmedia storytelling company Bardo AB, and Caspar Sonnen, New Media Coordinator at the International Documentary Festival Amsterdam ("IDFA") and curator of the IDFA's showcase of interactive docs and other forms of digital storytelling, DocLab.

The discussion, as reported by Léa Germain on the Support Your Local Cinema blog, covered the latest thinking about transmedia storytelling - using key examples of recent work including a) The Truth About Marika, b) Gaza Sderot, c) bear71, d) fourthwallstudios.com and e) Iron Sky.

From space Nazis to documentary with a social agenda, this panel provided a great way to check in with current projects using transmedia storytelling techniques.
