When the presidents of home entertainment of five studios - 20th Century Fox, Lionsgate, Sony Pictures, Universal Pictures and Warner Bros. - gather to discuss the state of their businesses, filmmakers are eager to hear what they have to say. According to a report in the LA Times, these execs recently met (on Nov. 2nd, 2010) at a conference called Blu-Con (because it focused on the Blu-ray market). Apparently the biggest issue for these execs was "sorting through a proliferating array of distribution platforms and figuring out when and where to release their movies and at what price in order to maximize profits."
