Damsels in Distress: Anita Sarkeesian, Founder of Feminist Frequency, On The Roles of Women in Video Games
Created by Anita Sarkeesian (and funded by thousands of backers on Kickstarter.com), this video is the second in a series of three very thoughtful short films exploring the Damsel in Distress trope in video games.
Ms Sarkeesian's concerns (about gender stereotypes) have apparently provoked some (male?) gamers - who launched an intimidation campaign against her that included getting this video taken down from YouTube temporarily. There was even, briefly, a game that involved beating up a character based on Ms. Sarkeesian.
