Sheri Candler is one of the best marketing consultants working with indie filmmakers today.  She is also one of the authors of Selling Your Film Without Selling Your Soul (which is available in a number of formats, including FREE pdf). The book includes case studies with numbers (e.g., budgets, revenues, etc.) and ideas about what worked and what didn't for a variety of films (e.g., docs, narratives, webseries, transmedia).
