Crowd Funding: Pitch, Perks & Promotion

To raise money for a short film about a spelling bee loser (haunted years later by "cerise," the word that took him down), filmmaker John Trigonis (pictured here) used the crowd funding website IndieGoGo.com. With the help of over 100 backers, John's campaign exceeded his $5,000 goal and the film that resulted, Cerise, has played a number of stops on the festival circuit. Now, in an excellent post about crowd funding, John Trigonis is sharing what he learned. The blogpost includes lots of helpful ideas as well as videos - like the short pitch John produced for the funding campaign:
