Entertainment Jobs Follow The $
A July 22nd, 2010 article in The Hollywood Reporter claims that California has lost 36,100 jobs since 1997 because the state hasn't sufficiently wooed the entertainment industry. While the exact numbers can be disputed (36,100? Exactly? Not 36,200?), big films with big stars have recently followed incentives to some pretty unlikely locations. And it must be especially painful when films with iconic Hollywood titles are shot elsewhere: For example, "Captain America: The First Avenger" is filming in England and "Battle: Los Angeles" is filming in Louisiana.
